Concert Music
The Kingdom of the Fairies (2020) was composed to support the silent movie The Kingdom of the Fairies (1903), directed by Georges Méliès, and to be performed live alongside the movie. To be able to perform live, and have rest places between scenes, the movie was divided into seven movements according to the film’s story.
The music, besides following the story and supporting the movie, also represents sometimes the weirdness, and sometimes the beauty of this magnificent artwork.

Jacob’s Emotion (2020) is a theme and variations piece, where each variation is a transformation of the main theme through a variety of emotions, happiness, sadness, angry, spooky, and serene. In addition, emotions are conveyed through emotions through harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic variation, the piano accompaniment uses rhythmic figures related to Brazilian music, not in an exposed way, but rather in a disguised manner to convey a dancing feeling towards the main theme, and the happy variation of it.

Unplugged (2020) is about the feeling of not belonging to a place or situation. Each movement corresponds to some of the stages of this psychological feeling. The first movement, Estrangement, represents our first feelings of not belonging anywhere when we feel strange in all kinds of situations. Attached to this feeling, usually, we do not understand who we are. Inner conflict, the second movement, we realize that is necessary to start looking inside ourselves and accept who we truly are, this is one of the steps towards the feeling of belonging somewhere. In the third movement, Lightness of Being, we accept who we are, despite the feeling of not truly understanding our role in this world.

Bach after the Jazz Club (2021) is a piece where I use traditional baroque forms, like the fugue and chaconne, in a 20th-century modern music/ jazz approach. The first movement, Prelude, a free and introductory form, is used here to set the mood of the entire piece. The second movement, Fugue, follows the academic fugue form, with a modern approach, influenced by Bartok’s fugues. The third movement, Chaconne, is almost a jazz ballad that follows the basic structure of a baroque chaconne. The last movement, French Dance, follows the general structure of standard baroque dances, however, with a grooving rhythmic activity and a modern harmonic language.

Jacob’s Journey (2021) is a continuation of Jacob’s Emotions, in which transformations of the main theme are influenced by the life cycle experiences. Each variation has a name according to the experiences that most go through during their adolescence years: Starting the Journey, Life is not easy, Introspection, Sprightly (Adolescent Adventures), A wise man once told me, Growing.

Through the Eyes of Nostalgia was crafted specifically for the Austin Wintory Contest 2023. I sought to convey a genuine and emotive musical experience rather than focusing solely on technical intricacies.
To infuse a unique sonic character into the composition, I delved into my passion for sound design, incorporating various techniques that currently captivate my exploration in the realm of music creation.
